THE COBRA: SWIFT AND DEADLY ACCURATE

The Cobra is ready to strike! Micron-X- Corporation is introducing an innovative new multifunction gage called the Cobra. The Cobra, in reality, is three different products combined into one innovative, swift and dead accurate product. The Cobra is an “in process” 3 axis CMM. 
It is small, highly accurate, and factory hardened. This factory
hardening allows the Cobra to find its home on the factory
floor next to different machining cells. Ideally, the Cobra will
be used bythe same person responsible for the machining
process toverify the dimensional integrity of the features machined.
In other words, the machinist will now assume the responsibility, that
his machining process is correct, and accurate. This will eliminate costly mistakes at the root of the problem, rather than waiting until the end of the process when the results come in from the QC Dept.  It will solve, the all to common problem, of the congestion that most QC labs are plagued with. When the Cobra is on the hunt, it can move easily and effortlessly between machining stations, and thus be easily shared by multiple cells. “Cobra” should become a household word in every manufacturing shop or environment.

The Cobra can also be ordered as a DMM (Diametric Measuring Machine). The same components that compose the above mentioned “in process gage” CMM, are also used as the structure of the Cobra DMM. The Cobra DMM version measures full 3D, ID, OD, step to step, tapers, key seat, bores, run-out, concentricity and eccentricity, along with many other features. The Cobra can also function as a true 3 axis height gage with all the geometric features.

The Cobras deadly characteristics:

The Cobra’s base is a granite plate. Its main structure floats effortlessly on a new air bearing principal that is not influenced by temperature variations. This allows the Cobra to remain true to its accuracies, despite the environment around. There is no expansion or shrinking of the components that would limit the machine to a certain temperature window. The Cobra also boasts floating scales that are not subject to the influence of the base material it rests on. The Cobras reader heads are non contacting, and have a reliable digital output. The Cobra comes equipped with a display console that has touch screen capabilities and full geometric software, including a RS232 and touch probe interface.
